Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime can't be uninstalled.
- Hi, WebView2 isn't something you use and see it in action, there is no user interface for you to interact with, it's the backbone of other software that rely on it. Windows 10 has WebView 1 installed by default in it, number 2 is the one that's based on Chromium.
can't tell why exactly you have it without knowing what's on your computer.
which Windows 10 build are you using?
As you have experienced, Windows users should never uninstall Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime ever.
The same can be said with WIndows Defender. You will run into stability issues.
I suggest reinstalling Windows (not repairing) but you can try as a last ditch effort to repair your Windows installation.
What I've done to keep Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime from running in the background is:
1, disable Widgets within Windows Settings
2. force kill via Task Manager or Process Explorer (there are third party options available as well) the following after booting up:
— Widgets
— Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime
3. You may have to repeat the above about 15 minutes after your PC starts.
Again, I must emphasize not to try to disable or uninstall Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime. It's a vital Windows component.
