I found a further twist to this yesterday. Whilst I use Firefox generally my computer used to open the Outlook objects in Edge using Explorer 11. Yesterday I got a message when opening an object that I should delete Explorer so, assuming the problems were now fixed, I duly did. Now no object will open, I just get a message stating 'C:\Users\Peter Coad\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.Outlook\89ULOABU\email (004).mht could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.' I have re-loaded Explorer and gone into Edge settings but still no joy.
Have I now lost all ability to view these embedded objects in Edge?

Pernille-Eskebo: you still have to fix this problem though! This is just a workaround for something that should work with default settings (or, should in fact not be required in the first place with Outlook properly rendering mhtml).
