IS EDGE SLOWER THAN CHROME?

The scenario what about I am talking about- my computer is mining BTC through NiceHash at the same time edge is opened with only 4 tabs, when I was closing one tab it got stuck nearly for 20-30 secs. So I opened chrome with nearly 7 tabs running YouTube, google, GitHub, and more. 

Yet it was totally smooth nothing freezing. Chrome was opened with both miner and edge running.

So what's the bloat in edge?? Both browsers have hardware acceleration running, nearly same number of extensions(chrome have more extensions).
