This is certainly a useful feature. However, there is a need of a pen or any other pointing device better than a mouse if used on desktop.
If you are enabling the feature on handheld device then no extra device is needed.
I can use this feature on my desktop while reviewing the mockups to give feedback.
Or take notes while reading a blog.
