Inking on Web Pages - Discussion
Once again then.
if the function exists in Edge HTML it should be ported to new Edge because we do use them and releasing a broken browser (not feature and icon complete) will only kill of even more of your marketshare.
We have no further needs than inking on classic Edge provides. Therefore first focus on porting the functionality, fix the bugs and get the browser stable.
When that is done you can start working on new features but as long as MS Edge on MS Windows on MS Surface doesn't even work - focusing on new features is the wrong priority
there are some people like me who will not switch until this has been implemented, bugs be damed there is a team for that. this needs to get here to restore one of the standouts that makes edge more than just another browser
- MinasCasiouApr 25, 2020Brass ContributorWhats going on with this feature?
Been going on for months. Starting to lose faith...
Can someone lmk if this will get delivered?
Is there an alpha or canary or something for this feature?- dopylopApr 27, 2020Brass Contributor

Unfortunately Microsoft is being completely silent on this issue. This is unfair to customers who rely on this feature but it is also beyond strange that the most significant feature that no other browser has is given short shrift in favour of other features which, though useful, are not the standout that inking was. The ability to ink on pdfs in the current browser IS NOT a replacement.
But honestly, not to communicate on this is terribly disrespectful.- the_one_thorApr 28, 2020Copper Contributor
dopylop not sure they mean any disrespect - I suspect it's more likely that there's no-one reading this thread anymore and it's turned into a catch-all complaint thread.
