Put the Customer hat on...

Approach should be re-evaluated.
IMO, should
1) Build those key features into the new Edge
2) Refine / rebuild or add further features as extensions (you can never please everyone)
Keeping them out just frustrates existing users.
I can't (don't want to) do away with the old version till the new one has these features.
They should have been prioritised from the beginning, and IMO re-prioritised over all else immediately.
Once there, then build in more cool features.
That way, we can all come along the journey in a cohesive manner.
Now, we have fragmentation...
