How to move a tab to a Workspace in the background, without opening the Workspace?

I have started using Workspaces in Edge and find it very useful for sorting tabs in a format that is easy to restore across sessions. 

However, I often come across websites in one Workspace that I want to move to another Workspace window. But when I right-click and choose "Move tab to..." and select another Workspace, it automatically opens the entire Workspace, with all the tabs within it, even if it wasn't active/open. This disrupts my workflow and is taxing on the browser. 

Is there a way to send a tab to a Workspace in the background?
