Feedback on Edge Bar Build 104.x
Dear MS Edge,
build 104 rolls out to customers and consumers.
As talked on twitter, I am not fine with the decision to bring up the new Edge Bar enabled by default on Windows 10
1. Edge Bar takes plenty of screen space (especially at low resolution, which still does align with the W10 system requirements.
2. Edge Bar does autostart without consent (eventually it could be managed for business via CSP or GPO, but home users are affected nevertheless
3. Autostart of Edge bar cannot be disabled via Task Manager > Autostart
4. Edge Bar has a limited usefulness, as most of the features are duplicate to Windows Search + Task Bar Weather and News which has been released to business and home users earlier.
Afterall at 3 places in Windows 10 (start > search), Windows 10 Taskbar Weather and News and now Edge Bar, users get confronted with bing powered news (plus 4th if you do not customize Edge Start page)
I am not ok with that route as it has several productivity impact and the forcefulness of the feature has the potential to drive users away from the best browser they could possibly use.
