Just tired it on Edge Version 78.0.254.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit)
Works Fine. on the Facebook home/feed, played some videos then scrolled past them and it kept playing on the top right as it was supposed to, after starting the next video, it replaced the one that was already being played no issues at all.
Try clearing browser data.

My laptop is probably too old for Canary (works well with Edge)- Hi,
Even if your laptop's hardware is old but try updating your Windows 10 on it to the latest version (1903) if it isn't already, maybe it fixes it.
