Extensions are not being updated quickly enough

for example my ublock origin ad blocker hasn't been updated since the new version was published on the extension page on Google extension store.

my installed version is still: v1.21.6

I'm in latest version of Edge canary and manually checking for extension updates doesn't do anything, just quickly after 1 second shows a message that "Extensions updated"
