Edge Transparent Menus
- Mar 06, 2022I was going nuts on this one as well. It must not look as bad for some people. I could not read the text at all with it on. I found a solution to turn the new feature off. Go to edge://flags and look for a setting called "Enable Windows 11 Acrylic effect in menus" change the setting to Disable and you should be good to go. I have not noticed if "Enable Windows 11 Mica effect in title bars" is causing any issues or not.
Of course, you can change the theme color in the Edge settings and that should help, but I suggest a new Windows theme - you can download it in the Microsoft Store - please write what you think?

Deleted Unfortunately changing the theme doesn't really help:
As you can see above the transparent settings menu is not usable even with a different theme. It is a little better in light mode, but not much. Apparently this problem could be related to me running Edge inside a VM on VMware Workstation?
I'm still looking for a solution.

I understand!
I use high contrast - I always have a black background and enlarge everything in advanced system settings, so I do not use the default settings
In the Accessibility settings, you can change the color filter, or turn on high contrast and increase app scaling and text.
