Edge sync with Google Account
So, I've been using Chrome for like 10 years, and now I've heard about Edge from a friend, and I wanted to switch browsers. But all my passwords, bookmarks and history stuff are synced with my google account. I also have an android phone, which came with Chrome and Google apps, and I like the fact that Google from desktop brings me all the passwords and others on my phone. The question is if I can sync all Edge things in my google account, to keep them present everywhere. It is pretty hard to me to break up with all the google services, since I'm using Gmail, Google Drive, Youtube and others, and bing gives me poor searching results in romanian, comparing to google.
Sorry if the whole thing sounded like an ad for google, but I'm wondering if I can sync edge with a google account.
Peace!

antonio258_ anyone solved this?
I understand that to some it could sound counter intuitive, but from my perspective it's not. Edge has many great features over Chrome + all the features of Chrome, and I'd very much like to switch to it. However, the Google sync is the free, functionally perfect and as secure as it can be, and Microsoft's version of it is not even good enough to consider (tried it).For these reasons using Edge but syncing it to Google for me is very intuitive and actually the only thing stopping me from switching to Edge for at least a year now.
Thanks to anyone who comes up with a solution. I imagine an extension isn't impossible, i'd sit down and write it myself if I had the time..
Sync feature in Edge is as good as the one in Chrome browser, if not better.
if you think it's not, please be specific and explain the possible problem.

antonio258_ I can't remember which version asked you if you wanted to sync login into Google, I updated Windows 11 22H2 es-es to es-mx expecting to see the login screen, as the Setup said all config was gonna be reset... Or is it I can't find it, because is already sync?
- Stephen_Cena_QVICopper ContributorIt's late, and not ideal, but you could look at using the EverSync extension. It synchronizes any browsers that have the extension installed. I ran into issues as I was trying to sync a LOT of browsers but I think you would be OK with Edge and Google only.

Hi, antonio. In short, cannot sync with google account. You can only sync with microsoft(outlook) account.
But you can import passwords, histories and bookmarks etc. from Chrome. There is link down below.

You can also sync with Edge Chromium and Edge android version.
You can also make Google as your primary search engine in Edge in edge://settings/search?search=search
Edge Chromium is good browser made me switch browser from Chrome, with two powerful features (Read aloud and Collections)
- "You can only sync with microsoft(outlook) account."
add to that the @hotmail, @live accounts too, as well as Microsoft Office 365 (aka work/school accounts), there are more than 3 Billions Microsoft accounts and Edge browsers supports sign in from all of them.

But take into consideration that i, for example, have 4 microsoft accounts: one that belongs to me, 2 from being employed by companies that were using microsoft ecosystem and 1 from my current employer. That would have been an accurate count IF companies would allow you to link your personal microsoft account to their work account for the duration of employment but they do not. So this number is inflated i would say at least 10 times if not a lot more. Probably there is something similar with google accounts. Microsoft sync is a piece of crap which is why google account should take over - all my data is there and it syncs better then most platforms. Firefox has accounts and i find that it takes even weeks for my browsing history to be properly uploaded to that account and have it seen on another device. Microsoft account has similar shortcomings - i do not see the history quick enough on my other devices, passwords take long to sync and so on. Also what you say about google about selling your statistical data is the same with microsoft at the very least to some extent. And the solution you provide to "import" everything into the microsoft account is not at all a good option because now I WILL HAVE TWO COMPANIES SELLING MY DATA. Also keep in mind that while these are "free" services NOTHING ON THIS PLANET IS FREE - your data is the cost. You always pay one way or another.
If microsoft really want edge to have a future they need to enable google services - my data is already with google so your argument is invalid. Currently i don't even want to try edge because when i last did so i found the sync issues between devices and then i found that on my iPhone edge was not working properly so i had to go back to chrome there and then i had 1 android phone using edge, 1 PC using edge, 1 laptop using edge and an iPhone that gets none of this data transfered to it. So i had to switch back to google on all devices because of this limitation. You can ONLY import from chrome if chrome is installed - i don't want 17 browsers installed and i am not ready to commit fully to the microsoft ecosystem with their update track record or simple features that take more then 10 years to implement (thank you though for getting us built in RAR support in windows 20 years later). Using a 3rd party extension for sync is also not a FIX as now you have given your data to microsoft, google AND on top of that to a much less reputable 3rd party to perform the sync.
When you give an argument to prove a point make sure it cannot be used to prove the opposite of your point as well which completely invalidates it as an argument ....
Just try this on your microsoft account: open a page in edge and then go to your phone and check your history in edge - the page you opened on desktop will not show up on the phone. Sometimes it doesn't show even weeks later. Tabs from other devices? Never worked on microsoft account - it has been many years since microsoft had these functions and yet they still don't work so why would i even give it another shot ? I do understand why as a corporation this is not a decision that microsoft will consider but if you want edge to be a browser that is used for reasons other then downloading chrome then you need to find a way for this to be implemented in a functional manner otherwise all the effort put into edge development is wasted....
Welcome to the community!
All of those stuff can be imported to the new Edge browser.
they can also be synced between different Windows devices and between Android and ios mobile devices.here is the main topic about this and VERY good and Logical reasons and concerns that why Google should Not be integrated into Microsoft browser, Please have a look
