Edge Sync Isn't Available For This Account

I am attempting to roll out the new Edge Chromium to our domain users.  I deployed the administrative template in our domain controller and set the Group Policy settings as I'd like them to be.  Upon testing the default login called "Work" shows Sync is not available.  It also doesn't allow Office 365 New Page view.  It attempts to log in as the format DOMAIN\Username.  When adding the account mailto:Username@Domain the profile syncs correctly.  Details are below:

 

Version 81.0.416.53 (Official build) (64-bit)

Hybrid AD environment with On-Prem and Azure AD

Settings attempting to set by GPO:

Force Login To Use Browser - Working

Log in with AD Account - Not Working by default, must add account with @Domain

Enable IE Mode - Set but not working

    Were you able to make any progress with your account signing in as the domain\User instead of user@domain.com?

    I was able to get my users to get auto-logged into edge with the "Configure automatic sign in with an Active Directory Account when there s no Azure AD domain account" but this would not allow the user data sync.

    If I turn this back off and manually sign in, my user data can sync.
