Edge native notifications

Edge notifications used to use Windows native notifications that showed up in action center and follows the system notification rules. Recently that appears to have changed. Edge shows it's own notifications that are worse in every way. They don't follow focus mode rules, they layer over or under notifications from other apps, they don't show up in action center, etc.

 

I can't turn on native notifications even by manually toggling the flag for it in edge://flags.

 

Is this permanent? Any option to disable?

    Currently I am also looking for a way to get native windows notifications for example for the outlook PWA, instead of the ugly and impossible to check later, notifications that edge makes.
