Edge keeps signing me out
- May 17, 2024
florismkleijne HP Elitebook laptop, Windows 11 (language Norwegian), changed from 365 work account to personal 365 account earlier this year. Login to Windows with personal account. Had this problem with Microsoft Edge signing me out all the time.
Possible solution: Opened Settings, Accounts, Login options, deleted all Hello options (face recognition, finger print and PIN). Recreated these Hello options. I guess there was a connection to my earlier work account in these settings. After restart of laptop there is no problem with Edge signing me out (so far so good day at one). Will report back later this week.

- leioo2000Oct 23, 2024Copper Contributorthis works in my case, too! Used to be with work account, and set up with Hello options, then switched to personal, and then Edge updated with Profile feature, then Edge keeps signing me out after restart....now removed Hello finger prints and Edge profile finally works normal! Thank you guys so much!
- MarcinGrzybekJun 10, 2024Copper ContributorDo you mean to remove "Windows Hello PIN" option? If so then I'd be required to use the usual password, right?

For me the solution worked, I'm no longer being logged-off from Edge account.
- florismkleijneJun 11, 2024Brass ContributorThat's it: remove facial recognition and fingerprint if you have configured those, then pin. While those are removed, sign in with your password. But once you've seen that Edge stays signed in, you can re-enable pin (and facial/fingerprint) and the problem should stay away.

I have tried disabling all hello options and now also reinstalled edge. After usage of Vivaldi and firefox i got back to edge, and right after 2 days it started out of nowhere. I guess we are fighting with symptoms, but root of the issue can be fixed only by microsoft.

- florismkleijneMay 25, 2024Brass ContributorMine still works as well. Seems you solved it, SagaPer!
- florismkleijneMay 20, 2024Brass ContributorI've removed all Hello options a few days ago, and Edge is staying signed in. So far, so good. I'll give it to next weekend, and if it's still fixed then, I'll test what happens when I re-enable Hello.
- florismkleijneMay 17, 2024Brass ContributorThis is something I have not tried yet. Have now (had to disable 'Require Hello for MS accounts' first). Leaving them off first, see what Edge does; recreating them when I've established that Edge stays signed in without them.
- SagaPerMay 17, 2024Copper ContributorMy solution is still working. I guess this was related to the use of an earlier work account in my laptop. Looks good at the moment.
