Edge how to Always open favorites in new tab?
The only solution that works is this:
1. Disable the Favourites bar (Go to edge://settings/appearance#CustomizeToolbar, set the "Show favourites bar" option to Never.)
2. Disable the Favourites button (Go to edge://settings/appearance#CustomizeToolbar, disable the Favourites button)
2. Go to: edge://favorites
3. Pin the Favourites page (right click the tab and select Pin tab)
From now on, your Favourites are accessible from the pinned Favourites tab and will ALWAYS open in a new tab from that page.

Good work around, but the first 2 steps are unnecessary"

You can just do the steps 3-4 (even though your steps are incorrectly numbered) you listed and it will work.
They have stripped "ALL" other ways to make "Always open Favorites in new Tabs" out of Edge. Why, only they know........ And for some reason they seem to refuse to let us in on their reasoning.......

I truly HATE Microsoft....
For those who want the old "Work Around" to actually work....
I've been able to do so by putting the "Shortcut" code on BOTH the Properties of the Shortcut in the Start Menu, AND the Properties of the shortcut if you have the Shortcut pinned to the Taskbar.
Anyway, putting the code in BOTH shortcuts makes it work for me. If I do just one, like the one in the Start menu it WILL NOT WORK.
(though I haven't yet tried if just putting it in the Taskbar one only will work)FYI....
Oh, and why.... do I hate Microsoft more? My biggest HITS!!!
- Give us a worse Start Menu in 11.... Sure, it's fine for those with a few programs, but for people like me who have up to 100 Programs all Organized, Labeled, and Sized Nice in Win10's Start Menu, easy to see and get, 11's is literally UNUSABLE...!
Why couldn't they at least give us PROS 10's menu in Windows PRO at least? I mean, it's what PRO is for, us PRO's.- 11's Explorer Menu, again UNUSABLE for us Power Users.... 11's Explorer menu is someone's personal THEME, NOT designed for the masses. Shame on them.
Again, provide the original in PRO at least...!
We shouldn't have to use a 3rd Party program just to get BASIC functionality to work like we need, with things we TOUCH many times a day.- Forcing us into MS Outlook Mail....
Terrible UI, can't read things well like with "Mail & Calendar" it's very well done.
No Unified Inbox.
Intrusive AD.... when they have lots of "blank space" they could put ads if they need them "so badly".
Making the Ad look like an email is just a *** move.
These are my biggest current HATES atm... I have many little ones.- Dennis5mileSep 26, 2024Silver ContributorI have the shortcut workaround in every, every place that canary shortcuts are located and it still will not work for me. I tried these several weeks ago........ and they still do not work for me.......
