biggreenterp@steve8141 This error has nothing to do with edge per se. It is an issue that was introduced in macOS 10.15.4. Here is how I was able to fix the error. When you launch edge (in this case) - it will not start and thrown an exception window with error details. Do not close that window. Now immediately launch Edge again - it should start normally. After that you can close the exception error details window. This step will also permanently fix the problem - say you quit Edge and open it - it should open it correctly for you.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a problem not just with edge but other new apps especially 3rd party apps as there is some bug in macOS to validate the code signature - in some ways it is good that macOS is ensuring that software is not a hack or illegal download. Hope this helps.

      Dear ItsRoundRock

Thanks a lot; that did the trick in my case: now I can use MS Edge without a problem. I wasn't expecting at all such a simple step to fix this problem.

ItsRoundRock Tried this solution but edge still fails to start. My approach is alway to reinstall an older version of edge before i am able to use the browser. Is there any other solution out there

Bishopgee1 Sorry that you are facing this issue. Do you see an exception? if it is related to code signature, then the solution I provided couple of years back could help. However if it is some other exception, then I would not know. That said, I know Edge browser has been updated may times - maybe a specific version could be causing since you mentioned an older version is not causing the issue. If you could report the error, that could help as well.

  • biggreenterp Thanks for reporting this, and welcome to the Microsoft Edge Insider's community!

We have a bug open for a known issue with downloading MS Edge from Safari, specifically. Can you please try removing the previous download and trying it from another browser and/or trying one of the Insider builds. Please let us know if neither of those does the trick, and we'd be happy to troubleshoot further.

I have the exact same issue. Except I downloaded my installer from Google Chrome. Deleted

Just tried with Safari and same issue. Guess Edge is not ready for macOS yet.
