Edge crash on start - macOS Catalina 10.15.4

Question

Edge is crashing every time it is started after new install. biggreenterp@steve8141 This error has nothing to do with edge per se. It is an issue that was introduced in macOS 10.15.4. Here is how I was able to fix the error. When you launch edge (in this case) - it will not start and thrown an exception window with error details. Do not close that window. Now immediately launch Edge again - it should start normally. After that you can close the exception error details window. This step will also permanently fix the problem - say you quit Edge and open it - it should open it correctly for you.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a problem not just with edge but other new apps especially 3rd party apps as there is some bug in macOS to validate the code signature - in some ways it is good that macOS is ensuring that software is not a hack or illegal download. Hope this helps.

We have a bug open for a known issue with downloading MS Edge from Safari, specifically. Can you please try removing the previous download and trying it from another browser and/or trying one of the Insider builds. Please let us know if neither of those does the trick, and we'd be happy to troubleshoot further.
