Me, a wide screen user, always like using the folded vertical tab. Thus when I want to close certain tab, I have to wait for the unfold animation complete to click the 'x' icon which is not what I want.
Double clicking the icon to closed the tab, without further tab unfolding animation be performed may be a great solution for me.
I hope this is a meaningful scenario for this feature. thx

This. Also for the animation to unfold we have to hover on the sidebar and when the sidebar unfolds then we have to travel to the 'x' button of the tab. In the current state, closing vertical tab with mouse/trackpad is a pain.
- Knew_itSep 20, 2021Brass Contributorwhy not use keyboard shortcut then? ("Cntrl"+"W")

Knew_it Because I don't use keyboard for browsing and looking for CTRL+W is even slower than shifting finger to middle-click. Double click on same button is the fastest most comfortable way for me.
- Knew_itSep 20, 2021Brass ContributorWell, I don't use mouse very much (and never feel comfortable using it). That is why I am using keyboard. But you made me realize that some people more comfortable with mouse, So now I somewhat agree that this feature need (atleast) shows up on edge insider version.
I'd rather feel how the feature will feel like, then just imagine the pain. After some people try the feature, then it can be choosed to be rolled up or just be continued to exist.
Note: Just atleast.. make the feature optional.
