OneTab extension is buggy, when I restore my open tabs and then quickly before they are loaded I add them back by clicking on the extension icon, it discards all my tabs and only remembers its own tab.

HotCakeX I've loaded OneTab. It has some promise, as an extension, but I haven't found a way to load a set of tabs without it opening its own tab. A right-click context menu entry to open a set of saved tabs would go a long way, IMO.

Well that's just an extension, you can send your feedback to its developer to improve it.
IMO I think Microsoft can implement it natively and better than 3rd party developers.

    Yeah, and it's because Edge is not open source so only Microsoft knows how to make something work best for Edge
