Dev channel update to 88.0.680.1 is live
This version is causing a lot of issues with YouTube video play back. It seems to struggle to cope with some videos and the videos freeze, but sound continues. If I go in to fullscreen mode, the videos suddenly go in to 4 x speed or something similar.
At first, I thought it was a problem with my connection, but I don't get this issue in other browsers.

Mapantz what kind of device are you using, and what kind of video is being shown? By which I mean, if you right-click the video and view the "stats for nerds", are there a lot of dropped frames being listed, and what codec is it using?

PC, 4K screen.
It's just a general agriculture video showing cutting of fields. It isn't the only video to be doing it though.

Mapantz Well, it's definitely detecting that it's dropping frames, so that's a start! I don't know what other browsers you tried, but can you try Chrome Canary and see if the same thing happens there? Chrome's Canary and ours should have more or less the same web platform code, which means that if it only happens in Edge Canary (or Dev), then it's likely due to something we changed and not Chromium.
