Dev channel update to 86.0.587.0 is live
josh_bodner Thank you very much for fixing the Korean IME issue. Wonder why it wasn't included in the list of fixes. While the last character deletion issue seems to have been fixed, there's a another issue with the IME, both old and new versions. Characters don't form properly in the address bar if the keyboard is switched to Korean IME while the text cursor is in the address bar. Have already provided feedback regarding this. Don't know if other IMEs are also affected.
Also, when Edge's window is maximized, context menus, Windows 10 action center, Windows Explorer and many other elements are not visible in the foreground while a page is loading, even when Edge is not in focus. They only appear after the page finishes loading or if Edge's window is not maximized (i.e. restored down).

foo_bar this bug came from upstream Chromium, so we did the work up there to fix it. Unfortunately, I don't have visibility into the changes we do up there, so I usually don't get a chance to mention them in the release notes unless I specifically know about a bug and look into how it was fixed.

Because the fix happened in Chromium, we may not have fully incorporated it yet, so you should wait for a few more days to see if anything changes in Canary. As far as I can tell, it should make it there next week, and then into Dev the week after. We also made sure we included it in version 85 in case it's Beta you're using right now.

What version of Windows are you using, and can you reproduce that behavior in any other program besides Edge? Does a computer restart change anything?

josh_bodner Thanks for replying. I am using Windows 10 insider preview dev build 20180. No, this behaviour is limited to my Edge Dev (build 86.0.594.1), it's not even in my Chrome beta. No, a computer restart does nothing. It's been happening since the last 3 or 4 (major) builds. My Windows 10 has also updated twice since then. Not yet fixed.

foo_bar would it be possible to take a screenshot? It might help us be able to tell if Edge is covering those things (since we've had issues in the past where menus, tooltips, etc. render underneath the Edge window) or if they're just not appearing to begin with.
