Thank you for sharing, related to CPU usage, I personally notice it is mostly happens in AMD and older Intel CPU. I advised users to send feedbacks so you could investigate.
If anyone interested in look deeper into what might causing the high usage in CPU, you may use Process Monitor and Process Explorer:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer
These tools are good for technical people and if they want to do deep analysis , but generally it is better to send feedback.

This is happening on a Surface Laptop 3 (Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU). As I mentioned, this is occurring in the extension process. In my case, The Great Suspender.
With that said, this week's build seems to be better in this regard. In last week's build this was happening 100% of the time. Now I'm seeing it much less (though I've only been using the new build for less than 24 hours).

I am observing number of PCs and it is not happening all the time, does it happens for all websites? If possible try Microsoft Edge in Safemode with Networking and see if problem persist?
Make sure submit feedback , because it also send log files so Microsoft Edge teams could investigate.- Stephen BerardApr 09, 2020Copper ContributorAs I mentioned, is it not happening all the time on this week's build. It was happening 100% of the time on last week's build with The Great Suspender and on all websites. I have provided feedback on this.
I've not tried this in Safemode.

Funny, I have a SL3, too, same CPU. Same scenario. Last week often, after this week's Dev update, minimal to none. 🙂

- HotCakeXApr 09, 2020MVPEdge browser's built-in task manager is better, it breaks the process into more detailed parts, each extension, each tab etc.
- Reza_Ameri-ArchivedApr 10, 2020Bronze ContributorTask Manager in Microsoft Edge is great for internal investigation but sometimes it is an issue with the main Microsoft Edge process and external dependencies, for example recently, I was investigating performance issue and it was conflict with old driver with Microsoft Edge browser and in such a case we couldn't use task manager inside Microsoft Edge.
However, if there is need to investigate process of Microsoft Edge and internal extensions and website, internal task manager is good tool.- HotCakeXApr 10, 2020MVPI know all that, but the users said it's caused by extensions and browser task manager is better for it.
