Dev channel update to 80.0.345.0 is live
I had to remove the latest DEV and install Beta. Whenever Edge was launched, it created a miniature version of itself in the upper left hand corner of the main Edge screen. Any movement of the mouse to interact with the maximized version would only produce results on the miniature version.
Also noted that Beta channel will not let you remove the default work profile.

I have the same error with a screen resolution of 125% or 150%. With 100% all is fine. But my tablet pc "has to run with 150%”. With 100% all text is to small. So i deinstalled edge dev and installed edge beta, too.

Did you resolve this, I have the exact same issue where a mini window overlays the main window, did a fresh install including going to safe mode and deleting denied folders. Fresh install and still didn't work, rinse and repeat and installed Canary build and it works as expected as does Beta, so the issue is specific to DEV.
For reference I had only 2 extensions Citrix and Last Pass, I had removed both in testing as well so unlikely related, but worth mentioning.
Thanks

John4290 and Ronald Lawrimore, this is a known bug we're tracking. It's worth noting that we've only seen this happen so far on high DPI displays (displays where Windows' scaling is set to >100%), so it would be really good to know if you're seeing it on displays with normal DPI scaling.

just re-downloaded DEV and you are correct, I have 2 4K monitors and they were at the default recommended 150%, switching it to 100% where my aging eyes can't read the fine print the flashing mini window goes away, additionally the Canary Build does not have this defect. I was just going to use it till next week when the next beta and try again.
Thanks hope that helps.

that sounds like something a malicious website would do, or a malfunctioning extension
try clean installing Dev again (choose to remove user data during uninstall)

chances are it will fix it- vincethewipetDec 04, 2019Brass Contributor
Pretty big scrolling performance regression here. I don't see it on Canary. Scrolling is janky, often under 60fps, and a lot of lost frames. It's really showing when scrolling with a touchscreen and activating the fling animation.
Since Canary is OK (in fact, better than ever), I suppose it's temporary, but Dev is annoying to use for a bit.
