Dev channel update to 80.0.320.3 is live
It's possible I'm blind, but where in the heck has the option to have Edge/Edgium/Whatever check if it's the default browser gone? Normally I hate that feature and have to turn it off in most browsers, but my office keeps resetting the default browser to Chrome, and I don't know its done that unless i manually check it, or click a link and get the wrong browser. I'd like for Edge to tell me when it isn't default, but it isn't, and I can't find a setting that will make it.

Here is where to set the default browser. Since you are setting it, you are going to know what it is. When you click on the one showing there is a list of all available from which, you select. My case, shows Edge & all 3 Edge C Channels. As you can see, Dev was selected.

if the administrator has changed that then normal users won't be able to do anything in that page.

Thanks for trying, but that's not it. I know how to set it already. What I want is for edgeium, to tell me when it isn't the default, as pretty much every browser has done since... well, forever. My office, resets the defaults via GPO, and I only know it's happened, by either having a link open in the wrong browser, or by manually going into default apps every day. i'd rather just have edge tell me when i open it, that it isn't the default. It used to do that several months ago, even providing a nice link right into default apps, but it doesn't seem to anymore, and I wish that it would.

Geeez, took me a minute for the light to come on, hence the delay answering you.
I want to talk about Edge for a moment, but, with the default browser set to something else such as, an Edge C Insider Channel. When & if Edge is (now) opened there's a query about what browser is selected. I'm not wording this well. Anyway, it's what your mentioning. When Edge C is the embedded browser, when it replaces Edge... NOW, the same would come with Edge in the same scenario.
It has to be realised & keep mindful the difference, currently, between Edge & these beta Channels. One is entrenched in the OS, the other is not (yet). The Channels a running more like apps than anything. Being testedoutsideon top of the OS not, in it, so to speak. Here, another example is Timeline. Right now, it works with Edge not Edge C. Once Edge C takes its place, IT will work with Timeline. It is not fully tied to the OS, presently, the way Edge is. When that changes, other things will, also.
