Dev channel update to 80.0.320.3 is live
josh_bodner Installed the update, now Edge is constantly crashing at startup. I can't even click the 'restore pages' option before it disappears on me.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but that doesn't do the trick. It seems more people have this issue atm.
A bit disappointed now, it went so well.....
edit: Does somebody know where Edge stores the History in the user data? I was able to find my Collections data, and my favs are synced again (Phew....)
But I would love to have my history of the last week back, and/or my last opened tabs.....
edit 2: was able to find and restore History. Open tabs not so much. Oh well...

The Team is aware & they are addressing the issue.

I had this problem with Edge Dev after the update yesterday - every attempt to run it, the window opened with the 'restore' message, but it then immediately crashing.
What finally fixed it for me was (very quickly, before the crash) clicking on the Home button. It actually loaded the home page and has been fine from then on.
Doesn't help for people who don't have the home button showing ...

DavidGB As long as you stop the update page from loading it doesn't crash (Stop/Home). Then you can self-close and open Edge again without problems (and a new taskbar icon).

you could also temporary disable the update process using group policy and enable it a week later when the next major Dev channel update comes so you will dodge all these problems until then

I also got this issue when update from dev 79 to 80, a temporary fix is uninstalling the v80 and install an old version, then disable all the extensions and do an update to 80.
Today I got another update from 80.0.320.3 to 320.4, it seems the consistency issue of the task bar menu still exist. I think it is due to the profile, because the icon in start menu use a some kind of neutral profile, but the taskbar icon use your active personal profile.
I am using multi-profile on my office PC, because it is in a domain and the "work" profile is auto added and can not be deleted

Strange, in the first page of this post they are saying:
"Fixed an issue where Work profiles that were erroneously added to the browser were unremovable."
but apparently not?

It is good you have a fix or workaround for people experiencing this. I, too, now, have 320.4. No such issues now nor before w/ 320.3
There is an issue the Team is looking to fix, but, it is not affecting everyone. BTW, I'll point out, people have been saying this problem is in Dev. The version numbers you have mentioned are Canary. Ergo, it applies to both.... unless one is unaffected, of course. I'm one of those with all 3 Channels perfectly fine.
