Fixed an issue where certain Read Aloud voices don’t work properly. Changed behavior: Changed the InPrivate icon into a square, as requested by user feedback. Fixed an issue where users signed into the browser with a personal Microsoft account are unable to sync favorites and other content. Fixed an issue where users with multiple accounts lose their account pictures on Taskbar shortcuts. Fixed an issue where the Taskbar shortcut sometimes appears as the default sheet of paper. Fixed an issue where the tab title in the tab band or on the Task Bar is incorrect if a PDF document is open. Fixed an issue where selecting large amounts of text in PDF documents doesn’t work properly. Fixed an issue where searches from the address bar are always in English despite the user’s language being set to some other language. Fixed an issue where Top Sites on the new tab page disappear or are reset after upgrading to a new version of Edge. Fixed an issue where translating a page into a different language and then back into its original language shows an error instead of performing the second translation. Fixed an issue where autofill settings are unexpectedly turned off by default for some users. Fixed an issue where cookies are unexpectedly disabled on new installations. Improved text input in Collections. Fixed an issue where two scroll bars sometimes appear in Collections. Fixed an issue where uninstalling a website installed as an app from the Control Panel doesn’t give any indication as to whether or not it’s succeeded. Fixed an issue on Mac where clicking in menus sometimes doesn’t work. Fixed an issue where corrupted characters appeared in the F12 Dev Tools. Fixed an issue where certain icons are inappropriately mirrored in right-to-left language installations. josh_bodner The perfect scrolling experience is what separates Classic MS Edge from every other browser, including the new Chromium Edge. The only things keeping me using Classic MS Edge as my main browser are:Laptop multi-touch touchpad 2-finger scrolling/fling not as smooth in Chromium Edge as in Classic Edge.Multi-touch touchpad scrolling animations (e.g. rubber band/bounce) apply to main content area but not scrollable HTML elements. To see what I mean, try touchpad scrolling in Settings -> Site permissions on the right hand side, or other places such as the main content area in Spotify web app, or the left navigation pane on docs.microsoft.com pages (e.g. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/unknwn/nf-unknwn-iunknown-addref) . No scrolling bounce when reaching the end of scrollable content.Multi-touch zooming animations (e.g. feedback bounce) don't occur when zooming too far in/out.Tooltips in whole browser (which are no longer rendered via comctl32.dll in Google Chrome and Chromium Edge) aren't rendered correctly on HiDPI displays. Sometimes the border lines are wrong colour or missing completely. This is a longstanding issue, please fix.When favourites bar is disabled, the address bar has an annoying black line as a border. This was previously a 2px grey line. The line should be 1px grey as in Classic Edge. There is no option to set window frame colour to grey/dark grey/translucent (i.e. as UWP apps look).Please fix these. I've been testing Chromium Edge for months and most of these issues have been present but have never been addressed. I'd love to use Chromium Edge as my main browser but until these issues are fixed I will likely keep using Classic Edge as long as possible because the high level of polish makes my Windows laptop feel like a premium experience, regardless if other browsers are getting faster and gaining other improvements.

Nice stuff josh_bodner I would like to make a suggestion, can you carry over the Site To Zones GPO feature that exists for Internet Explorer? It's a god send in Small to Medium sized businesses that with Internet Explorer we can fully stop users downloading files from websites unless we assign the website one of the number values in the Group Policy setting to be either "1 - Intranet" or "2 - Trusted Sites". This ofcourse implies that the GPO setting to prevent users downloading is also carried over

On a Mac and in the developer tools window, when I press the key "Cmd", the window shifts trough the panels.

It's unusable this build.

Is there any way I can revert to the previous one?

josh_bodner It's just here but Youtube isn't loading properly? Only the video shows and I can't maximize it or see comments or other content of the webpage. Also, not even the title of the video appears in the tab, only "YouTube".

I disabled Adblocks and other extensions as well, the problem persists. I'll have to redownload the browser? 😕

Edit: I downloaded another version of the browser, the Beta, and the problem persists. So it's either a Youtube problem or an ISP problem?

Somehow, these threads quickly devolve about topics not about this specific version. Which is fine perhaps, but that muddles the "regression discussion" or new bugs in this version only.

Maybe a self-serving comment: ...as this new 79.0.301.2 version has crashed 7x in one day here: no new extensions, no changed settings (except Strict -> Moderate trackers blocking). I can only remember Chromium Edge crashing ~4-6 weeks ago, and that was just twice.

edit: just saw your comment, HotCakeX . Glad to hear they've fixed it already in Canary!

  ikjadoon sorry for the radio silence this week, it's been busy on my end getting all these issues tracked down! Since the fix for these crashes is in recent Canaries, it will also be in our next Dev update.

I still getting annoying start and settings views with the latest dev build. I can't say what's wrong, maybe a missing or corrupt font?

  it's happening because the fonts are set "Too Big" in the settings, all you have to do is to go to the settings / Appearance / Customize fonts and change them back to normal

With this update in the last 12 hours my browser has crashed 3 times out of nowhere, doesnt freeze, just flatout closes without any notice and isnt bringing up the windows error reporting dialog either, though i am glad to see that the microsoft rewards page is back to working like it should with this update

  you're hitting a known bug that was available previously on Canary and is now shipped to the Dev, But it is fixed in Canary so Dev needs to wait for the next update (every week) to get the patch

  Wundertuete I just wanted to clarify that, as others have mentioned, we do have a known bug right now with video playback that can be temporarily fixed by changing your hardware acceleration setting. However, this may not be your issue as we've got another similar video playback bug that, without looking at your logs, it's hard to tell if it's the one you're running into or not.

Please figure out a way to allow sync for Businesses with AD Connect to Azure for Teams Free allowing company login as MS Work account (without O365, my current employer is Software Assurance everything on Prem).
We can get other services syncing Like OneNote to their Work AD accounts via Azure login with this setup, why not allow sign into browser this way for Sync, currently I can sign in but it says sync disabled by Admin (I am the admin, please allow me to enable this) people want to sync these items across their work devices (Office PC, Surface, iOS devices), and I would love to make this the default browser and steer them in this direction over using personal accounts or worse Chrome + Personal...
Speaking of iOS that app let me sign in to my work MS account and enable sync for everything, but desktop app says disabled.

  Word and Excel online are currently possible but I agree there needs to be more and preferably use the installed versions of them when available instead of Online.
