Uhm... Who told you that? In IE11 they were since Windows 7 and they are still works in Windows 8.1. So there are no technical difficulties to make them work again.

That_s_Me They work a little differently in 10 and there's no real reason to target them for 8.1 / 7 as 7 is now unsupported and I'm not sure how many people use 8.1 or why they'd want to, but it's a very very small number.

So, that's just your opinion, which you forgot to mention early?
And it not related in any way to developers intentions? New browser is targeted to 3 versions of Windows, so it's fair to have feedback from them.

That_s_Me Support ends in January 2020 but the purposes of this project it's effectively unsupported as the final version of this product will be released after end of support.
I'm just letting you know why it won't work and probably never will.

I wonder if they even release new versions of Edge insider and updates for Windows 7 version after that time
