Dev channel update to 79.0.287.2 is live
I've tested it on Many websites (set to block) and had no luck so far.

HotCakeX Yes, I have also tested this feature since it first appeared https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/d20h3g/microsoft_adds_the_option_to_control_if_audio_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x, and there are two pages where it works perfectly, CNN and Fox news (at least in my case), I know that many of you don't frequent those pages (neither do I, but they serve to demonstrate that this feature works).
Set the option to "Block", open two new tabs and copy and paste these links:
https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/01/politics/trump-impeachment-senate/index.html
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pompeo-state-dept-depositions
Now set the option to "Allow", open two new tabs again and copy and paste the links.
It seems that it doesn't work if you right click on the links and select the option "Open link in new tab", that's why it's important to open new tabs and copy and paste the links.
It still doesn't work on the most popular sites like YouTube, but I guess that will come later.

Thanks,
looks like it only works when the link is pasted in the address bar or transferred from another app (like clicking on a YouTube video link from an email and opening it in the Edge insider canary) Yes it does work on Youtube! the video is not started (but preloaded) and there is a play button on the video ready for the user to click on. however if you navigate and click on another video from there then the autoplay won't work and video plays automatically. I think this area needs a bit of fixing.
