Same for it, it fails catastrophically for me after the upgrade. I did an uninstall/reinstall, and it still fails. It also complains about my Lastpass and ABP extensions, which were even present after I reinstalled. I don't know if the extensions errors are a cause or a symptom.

The extension errors are a symptom. Every renderer process (including the renderer processes used by each of your extensions) is crashing because something is trying to inject code. Do you have Symantec installed? If so, you'll need to update to the latest version.

Same case.
I was using Edge Dev fine until I do Windows Update yesterday. Then today I found "Dev channel" show "This page is having a problem", even for edge://settings.

Are you running a 32bit version of Edge? Try Win+R:
msedge.exe --disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity
If that fixes you, then the bugfix is known and just waiting for the next push.- zhangchi1979Aug 23, 2019Copper Contributor
Eric_Lawrence thanks and it works. Just FYI, I am using Windows 10 64 bit and Edge Dev also 64 bit version.

Thanks. If you're using 64bit, that means that there's some software on your computer which is injecting itself into the browser. An old version of Symantec's security product was doing that; would you happen to be using it?
If not, if you could visit edge://conflicts and copy the data to a text file to share, we can investigate further.
thanks again!

Eric_Lawrence I'm running 64bit. Here's a video clip of what happens when i open edge. Edge://conflicts doesn't open since there's absolutely no response to any clicks or actions in the browser. Ran msedge.exe --disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity but again same result.

zhangchi1979 josh_bodner having the same issue with DEV version where you launch and all extensions crash. You cannot navigate any pages or open Settings, Help & About, etc. So this version is completely useless to use. Sticking to BETA release until this is fixed or a new build is uploaded.

Chris Childerhose i have two machines in front of me... i updated both to latest Dev Edge build... one works, the other doesn't... they were synced, with the same extensions... so it might be environmental.

Keith_Williams exactly the same issue here... can't figure it out....
- AnonymousAug 22, 2019A simple uninstall-reinstall would solve your problem. I'm not facing any of those issue.
It might be worth investigation in a couple of places:
1) if there is more than 1 folder with Edge version as name in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge Dev\Application"
2) clsoing edge (double check task manager) then rename the Default folder to Default.bak from "%localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge Dev\User Data" and launch edge. This will remove your profile and user added extensions and you can start over. To restore your previous profile just delete the newly created Default folder and rename the Default.bak one back to Default.- kriscremersAug 22, 2019Copper ContributorAlas, none of those work. See my earlier replies for a temporary workaround. It's a problem with the browser itself, not the installation data.
- Mark HeathAug 22, 2019MVPsame here, completely broken for me too
- kriscremersAug 22, 2019Copper ContributorTry running it in Windows 8 compatibility mode (right-click shortcut > compatibility > run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 8).
I have the same problem and this workaround fixes it for me. The problem is that I have to set that flag every time I close the browser and want to run it again.
