Dev channel update to 78.0.244.0 is live
Still missing the IE Mode for non Enterprise users.
Would like to see the option "Open in Internet Explorer Mode" for ALL websites, NOT only for a listed internal Website.
Reason is, many IoT Devices like Digital Video recorders, Webcam, Switches, Telecommunication systems, IP telephones and other browser enabled gadgets need ActiveX/Flash/Internet Explorer specific functions.
I was informed, that later after Edge Chromium installation Edge and IE will removed from User access, so their is definitely a NEED for non Enterprise customer to have the IE Mode. This would be then the only way to open that IE specific webpages!!

It is not missing. IE Mode is not for or available to non-Enterprise. Others have Internet Explorer available in their OS, by default. If you are not using an Applications window, it is in the Windows Accessories folder on your Start menu. It's own browser without any need for going through another in IE Mode. The, actual, IE browser is, ALREADY & still, in your OS. In other words, you are not without IE or easy access to it, even, without IE Mode in a(nother) browser.
Non-Enterprise do not have IE Mode... they DO have Internet Explorer!

It don't t make sense to implement IE Mode only for Enterprise.
They could also use Internet Explorer, so why normal users need two browsers to use all Websites.
Also Internet Explorer is not available on new devices using Windows on Arm.
So please let us use the IE Mode for all Users. Best would be to activate it using settings.
At build 2019 it was stated, that the new Edge will replace IE and old Egde Browser.
Now you tell us, that we have to use the IE also after release of new Edge.
Additional in old Edge the IE Mode os available for all users, so your decision is a big step backwards ! Very bad!
Alexander Jacubowsky With a little effort it should be possible to use the enterprise site list without a domain. General overview would be
1.) deploy admx/language files to your local machine
2.) create a sitelist xml file
3.) turn on IE mode / enterprise site list via local group policy editor (gpedit.msc) on your machine
That should work and then it won't matter if they add/remove the menu item in the future.
- Why this is so complicate. Just let the user allow to select tools - open in IE Mode. To open an website or device webconfig manually.
Most user will not need it, but for them who need it, it should not be so complicate

Alexander, I am sorry some folk don't understand about IE. But, the scenario must be accepted. The idea is to finally put IE out to pasture with the dodo bird & XP & the Model T. An exception has been made for some business concerns.
When security support for IE disappears (not that it is very secure, now) using it would not be smart. Edge replaces IE, has ever since Edge was 1st released. Don't want to use 2 browsers, then, use Edge exclusively.
Anyway, albeit, some are confused & upset, things w/ IE & IE Mode are not going to change.

DrewEdge is NOT able to replace IE in total.
As long as ActiveX and IE plugins are not supported by Edge, also non Enterprise customers need an IE Mode. Why you don't allow us to anable it using flags without the need of enterprise configuration.
Just today i had a website that don't work usinge edge, but IE!

So you can see IE Mode is also needed by non enterprise!
Also I am willing to remove IE from all Computers. But this is only possible if we have access to IE Mode in esge
