Dev Channel update to 111.0.1660.6 is live
Alright for all of us who's looking for the fix:
edge://flags#edge-minimal-toolbar
edge://flags#edge-rounded-containers
edge://flags#edge-visual-rejuv-rounded-tabs
Disable the above three flags and restart Edge.
Experimental or not, I don't think these new visual changes are in anywhere near a good direction to create a better UX. Wasting space for UI eye candy is never a good thing. The profile switcher was in a logical location now it takes over the vertical tap options button, makes no logical sense to have it in the title bar and very bad for existing users' muscle memory. Last but not least the uni-color rounded tabs design is an absolute disaster for distinguishing the active tab. Hopefully you guys could take more serious considerations when designing future UX changes.
- Davy49Feb 12, 2023Iron ContributorHi jateruy,
Thanks so much for posting these edge experiment settings, at least now my browser looks somewhat more normal again. I'm sure there are probably some users of the developer builds of ms edge chromium browser that might actually prefer the roundness of the items that these posted experimental flags eliminate, but I'm not a fan of any of them. I guess that's why those of us that actually are using the development builds of the browser are actually using it so we can check out new features.- Antonio_Javier_GuerraFeb 13, 2023Copper ContributorHola grupo, buenos días.Alguna flags para abrir favoritos en una nueva pestaña? muchas gracias.
- bnemecFeb 09, 2023Brass Contributorjateruy, thank you for the flags. The last one (edge://flags#edge-visual-rejuv-rounded-tabs) I didn't disable as there was a note there to turn it off in settings which I did and left feedback.
The unwanted Bing "Copilot" is still there in the way, big ugly and disruptive. Did I miss a flag that turns that off?- jateruyFeb 14, 2023Iron Contributor
afaik the button could only be disabled via group policy atm, try follow the guide from the link in my previous reply above.

jateruy reg edits don't seem to be working to disable the discovery icon in Linux. 😉
Like was stated in the other thread, this should be a user facing option/setting. I typically don't like editing reg for something that should be a user setting. Mostly because a new release of the app will render the reg edit irrelevant or in conflict and I forget to go back and remove he entry. Also the policy is set by the company so it will likely reset with my next user session. But, I tested it and it does remove the Discovery icon as promised. For that I am grateful.
