BoydB you can use group policy to disable this by adding the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
DWORD: HubsSidebarEnabled
Value: 0
Then go to edge://policy and hit reload policy.
