[canary] fav sites appearance on a new tab page

Hello! The new tab page was recently updated in canary version, so it looks like a good idea to remove background filling on fav sites list, but it's actually NOT! Note how awful and weak icons look with the updated ui placed above the photo background:

especially note BBC logo. how many suck icons will look the same terrible way? Even half black and half transparent background dosen't help! It need to be fully reworked! obviously the text dosen't look good over the photo too - banal shadowdrop isn't a solution! maybe flat solid-color background for the characters would be better?
