Bug setting custom shortcuts in edge://extensions/shortcuts
BEFORE BUG WAS INTRODUCED
When setting a custom shortcut
- click the edit button on a shortcut in edge://extensions/shortcuts
- it will be set into shortcut setting mode
- In this mode, it will temporarily disable all shortcut functionality including the native functionality and already set custom shortcuts
- The user defined shortcut will now take precedence over the native functionality and remove the previous custom shortcut with same bindings
- (This is the behavior of Google Chrome and Edge a couple of versions ago)
BUG introduced a couple versions ago
- CURRENTLY, in SHORTCUT SETTING MODE, it will execute native or previously set shortcut instead of setting the bindings
- IMPOSSIBLE to set native shortcuts, For example (Ctrl+W, Ctrl+Shift+W, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+Shift+T)
- Need to MANUALLY remove previous shortcuts with the same bindings BEFORE setting custom shortcut
- BEFORE BUG Setting a custom shortcut will automatically remove any shortcuts with the same bindings.
- BEFORE BUG there was an 'X' button to remove the custom shortcut, currently, you need to click the edit icon and click away (blur) to remove the custom shortcut.
To reproduce this Bug
- Open edge://extensions/shortcuts
- Click on any of the shortcuts and try to bind with (Ctrl+T)
