Bring Multi-Account Container Tabs to Edge
I really hope that Multi-Account Container Tabs feature is in the todo list of Edge team.
As you know, Firefox is the first major browser to introduce this innovative functionality for safe and organized browsing experience. But Multi-Account Containers can also be used by web developers as an important and time saving tool. This can be one of the big differentiating features of Edge.
The Problem
While building multi-role web applications we need to constantly logout and login with different user accounts. There should be a better way to improve this workflow.
Current Solutions
- Incognito mode:
Gives only one extra session. - Multiple profiles:
Different profiles are separate instances. Currently it is not possible to sync among multiple profiles. So even profiles allow multiple sessions, it is very difficult to use as a workaround for multi-container tabs. Specially without history, bookmarks, and passwords the benefit of multiple session is very little.
Better Solutions
- Multi-Account Container tabs
- Allow syncing among multiple local Edge profiles.
Because it is not possible to create so many real online Outlook accounts to get container tabs like benefit.- To make it even helpful allow automatically merging data of selected local profiles to one chosen Outlook profile.
- Show option to re-create those local profiles when logs into Edge in another machine with that consolidated Outlook profile.

That's the only thing keeping me on Firefox for the last 5 years
- sobeeitCopper ContributorIt's a shame this functionality hasn't been baked in all these years later. The lack of container tabs is one of the reasons I don't use Edge much.
- romankBrass ContributorAll who want this feature, I call you to please upvote call for containers in Edge over at feedback portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/1a8610b0-9ee0-ee11-a73d-6045bd7a7839
+1 for containers in Edge, working with Edge with multiple 365 users and it is not easy without containers in Edge. - rcarmonaCopper ContributorI need this functionality ASAP!
- Racle90Copper Contributor+1 for containers. They are an awesome feature in Firefox and it's really hard to even consider edge when that feature is missing.
- SpitFire-666Iron ContributorI'm forced to use Edge at work 😢 (long time Firefox user). Doing stuff (eg O365/Azure) as an admin is painful. I can use incognito mode but it has disadvantages like it doesn't remember passwords/logins and doesn't remember history/URLs (by design). Firefox's multi-account containers do not have these deficits.

Description (from Sep 2/21)
Using websites with multiple accounts at the same time is made easy. Create an independent tab with a click of a button.
Use one browser with multiple active sessions per site. Log into multiple accounts on the same site simultaneously. No more need for secondary browsers, private sessions, let SessionBox handle these for you.
Your sessions are securely synchronized between your devices by using your SessionBox account. Start a session here and continue it in any other Edge browser.
Protect your privacy. Tabs managed by SessionBox do not use shared storage, variables are handled by the extension. Other tabs and websites therefore cannot monitor your activity.

So I've been using it today (first time) - here is my first observations:
- it works - the tabs I've used as separate sessions have allowed me to stay logged into the same site (work related) under two different accounts
- but something weird as I keep getting notifications from that website saying my user session has changed - as if it can detect that I have another session open, but still it leaves me logged in under both/separate accounts
- KibSquib48Brass Contributorthis feature is a must-have, I loved using it with firefox and would love it with edge

Hello,
I want this feature on Edge too, it's good for privacy and separating cookies of websites.
but please send this suggestion using the feedback button on Edge. commenting "+1" doesn't do much. Edge developers track user feedbacks they receive through the browser, and that's how they evaluate stuff.
press Edge (...) menu => Help and Feedback => Send feedback
Thank you!
