Auto play on Version 83.0.478.37 (Official build) (64-bit)
Does anyone have the magic as to how to turn off auto play on the current release version of Edge? It's really annoying.

Really, at the moment, there is no way to prevent the option to autoplay on any builds of Microsoft Edge Chromium. It is given as planned status by Microsoft in the top feedback summary for May 19.
I hope that this feature is added soon.
