Are there any fix for hardware acceleration issues?

I am no longer using Edge because on Windows there are some issues that appear to be related to hardware acceleration, bugging what the browser renders, and have to resize it's window to fix.

It happens on specific websites and mostly while gaming.

On MacOS M1/M4 doesn't happens.

On iOS 18/26 there were some issues related to scrolling on some websites (I think related to ads) . To fix, have to go back or close the tab.

I really like Edge, but these issues made me migrate to Firefox (no issues), using only Edge on the business computer..

Will there be a fix for chromium based applications or by Edge it self some day?

Yeah i’ve seen that too on a few setups, mostly when gpu acceleration is enabled with certain drivers. sometimes disabling “use hardware acceleration when available” in edge settings helps for a while, but it’s not a real fix. it’s likely related to chromium gpu sandbox or the way edge handles direct composition.

For now, only workaround i found is updating gpu drivers or switching to the beta/dev edge build where rendering is slightly more stable. hope microsoft addresses it soon, it’s annoying having to resize every time.

      Thank you for the reply!

I didn't tell, but it seems to be not related to GPU drivers, since I used a RTX 3060 TI for a long time and moved to a RX 9070 XT, and it happens with both.

Which version is stable on beta/dev build?

Very interesting. For me, I never had these issues while using an RTX 3080. It started when I moved to a RX 9070 XT.

Also, for me it is never happening while gaming. It only happens when I have one window open that is playing a video (YouTube or a streaming service) and I have a second Edge window for browsing in parallel. It's incredibly annoying. So annoying, that I started watching videos in a Firefox window instead...

I would really like to know if the issue has to be fixed in Edge or by AMD in their drivers.
