Annoying error code 6 on Mac
Same problem here! Just installed Safari 14 on Catalina and boom.....error code 6.
- nirobertSep 17, 2020Brass ContributorSolved the issue for me also (same context: Mac OS update for Safari this morning on latest mac OS version, then Edge was stuck)
- macpeteSep 17, 2020Copper ContributorSolved with a reboot. Thank you.

xyzlast what do you mean by reboot? There is no way to access the settings page, and edge://restart doesn't solve the problem. There is no reboot option on mac as far as I know. Also, do you have the Safari 14 update? If you don't, we could be talking about different issues here

Yiken rebooting is much the same as cold start. shut down completely, wait a beat, hit the power and turn computer back on. there, rebooted. a restart, is a soft reboot. but the hard reboot is best. if it's hung up on shutdown, happens, hold the power button until power goes off. you could also yank the power plug, for a desktop mac, but has the added danger of damaging data on storage drives.
