Annoying error code 6 on Mac
Soham1010 well, this is the first time I've encountered it in half a year of using Edge for Mac. and it happened, immediately after updating Safari to 14.0, on my macOS Catalina 10.15.6. so, something seems to have been changed at a deeper level common to both apps and how it accesses the 'Net. just my take on it.
Same problem here! Just installed Safari 14 on Catalina and boom.....error code 6.

xyzlast what do you mean by reboot? There is no way to access the settings page, and edge://restart doesn't solve the problem. There is no reboot option on mac as far as I know. Also, do you have the Safari 14 update? If you don't, we could be talking about different issues here

Yiken rebooting is much the same as cold start. shut down completely, wait a beat, hit the power and turn computer back on. there, rebooted. a restart, is a soft reboot. but the hard reboot is best. if it's hung up on shutdown, happens, hold the power button until power goes off. you could also yank the power plug, for a desktop mac, but has the added danger of damaging data on storage drives.
