Android Edge 116.0.1938.58 is trying and failing to translate ALL web pages

I'm briefly getting this toast popup:

Oops! your request to translate this page
failed due to some error                        Retry

I made no such request, and the toast is annoying.

Turning off Microsoft Translator does not solve the problem.
How can I fix this? Thank you!
