by the way, here is a documentation explaining how the automatic transition from old to new Edge will happen
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployEdge/microsoft-edge-sysupdate-windows-updates
For those of us that are changing from other browsers (in my case Firefox). I have never used IE or Edge so I don't have anything in there (bookmarks, passwords, etc...). I have all of that in the Beta channel. So how is going to be for us?. Will my actual information in Beta be incorporated in the new Edge?. If it is not so, what have we to do to not lose all that information.
Thanks.

JJose,
You should ask someone, actually, from/with Microsoft or the Edge Team. I suggest that could be Josh, Elliot, David, Gabriel, et al.
I do believe that if you have (personal) MS Acc't/Profile info in Edge Insider, now... that would flow to the integrated Edge once or when it flips. Not much else would make any sense. Your sign-in is your ID, the browser becomes yours. After release, still, same browser & same User (you). Should be seamless, as far as I know and expect.
Cheers,

Hey Drew,
So, there is the possibility of multiple profiles, but each is linked to a specific user account. Here's my need: I have one user account, but I could benefit from multiple configurations. Tab set-aside in old Edge helped out a lot, but I had to remember to set the tabs aside after every session.
As part of my ham radio hobby, I have specific tabs set up for when I'm sitting at my radio. Other times, I don't need those tabs, but I might have other tabs set up. Basically, there are probably two or three configurations that I use all the time. I'd like to be able to open a configuration called, for example, Ham Radio, that would open the browser to the same state it was the last time I used it. If I am doing some other task, for example, Knights of Columbus, I would use specific tabs. And so on. It seems that, as it currently stands, I would have to have two or three different Microsoft accounts to accomplish this. Am I interpreting this correctly?
Regards,
Dan

you need 2 Microsoft accounts only if you want those 2 profiles of you be synced with Microsoft servers. otherwise you can create 2 offline profiles for yourself keep using it.

Thanks. I have to clarify that I´m a regular user (not tech savvy). I know that they are like two browsers but I think that the people that are working in this are aware that the concept of profiles is new to microsoft. So my point is if a have a browser that has the possibility of having profiles there must be an easy way to achieve what I´m proposing. Another thing that I was thinking is to sign in with my wife´s account in the second profile, besides what I have told HotCakeX (user data) but that is something like cheating. Also I will write to Lisbeth Salander and i'm sure she will find a way (just kidding, today is halloween).

Thanks.Hi,
All of the Edge Insider (chromium-based) channels (Canary/Dev/Beta/Stable) share the same Data and they are Synchronized between all of them if they are all connected to the same Microsoft account.
So for example, if you are using Edge insider Beta now and decide to Uninstall it and install Dev channel instead, providing that you had enabled Sync in your Beta, your data will come back in your Edge insider Dev installation after signing into your Microsoft account. your data is retained and kept safe in Microsoft's servers and you won't lose them. so always make sure that you have enabled Sync features in any Edge insider channel that you are using.
the process is the same in Google chrome channels. google chrome Canary/Dev/Beta/Stable all share the same data if they are all connected and syncing to the same Google account.
The same applies to all channels of Firefox (Nightly/Dev/Beta/Stable).
let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Files attached.
Thanks.
No only one of them is enough. choose one to be your main profile.
