Elliot Kirk I think it would be a great idea to bring back the note button from the original edge browser. I am working on a college degree and taking notes while on web pages would be very helpful, especially with my pen and tablet. On another note, I switch browsers all the time. Currently I am Using Opera's new Opera GX. The layout is incredible. The amount of customization is incredibly useful. Even the colors are able to change on border outlines. There is also a ram and CPU controller which is great for not just gaming, but for browsing while using other hefty programs. Such as CAD and Graphic design programs. I would also like to suggest that even though Edge is now a chromium based browser, you still cant change the search engine to be used on the start screen. I like the style of the start screen, and bing has come a long way, However, I feel that giving to option to customize which search engine to be used on that start screen would be fantastic. For me, having a great browsing experience is all customization. As of now, Microsoft edge is lacking this. Make it more customizable and friendly to websites and you have me hooked.
Web notes or Web page inking is really great feature, specially with integration with OneNote.
about the new tab page search engine,
you can change the search engine of the omnobox from here: edge://settings/search
though there is currently no way to change the Bing search bar that appears at the middle of the new tag page, without any 3rd party extension. developers confirmed that too in multiple posts before.
but if you do want to change it even with 3rd party extensions, i suggest you head to the Chrome extension store and try one of those extensions related to modifying the new tab page:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/new%20tab%20page
it eventually comes down to your own choice because each one has its own set of features.

So, I can't figure out how to start a new discussion.
With the latest release (I am using 78.0.268.3), when I load or refresh a page, the loading symbol will load on top of the favicon which is a little annoying...
In previous versions, the favicon would be replaced with the loading icon.
While I don't mind having the loading icon as well as the page favicon, I do mind having it overlapping.
How about pushing it more towards the left, so it will look something like this;
Loading Icon > Page Favicon > Page Title, instead of now where Loading Icon is Together with the Favicon
See image

So about the loading icon, what you're seeing is the new loading animation that Edge insider is using, it's also happening in Google chrome canary.
previous on Edge insider I could turn it off and on using a flag called "new tab loading animation" or something like that, but it's gone now so I assume they are choosing this new animation to replace the old one.
I agree with you though, there was better ways to animate that. I hope they at least improve it 😕- matsmcpSep 17, 2019Iron Contributor
Have you done any tests on how much extra battery this consumes?
I would like a disable animations setting.
And once again. Do not introduce new stuff until you have completed the important things. IE migrate every function from Edge classic - you still haven't fixed the broken favorites icon for example - not to mention the rest of the favorites menu

Hi,
I understand it can be hard to find the right section to post a problem/bug, here is the link to the discussion section:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Discussions/bd-p/EdgeInsiderDiscussions
you should see a blue button on that page saying "start a new discussion"
you can also find that section if you click on the "communities" at the top of the page and the type in the search area "Edge" or "Edge insider"
And once you click on the "Microsoft Edge Insider", then you you're gonna have to click on the "discussions" and it will take you to the discussions section.
