What would be cool...
- sidebar
- REAL customizable status-bar
- decision where to locate tabs - over the url-bar or under the url-bar
- generally more UI customization options.. Chromium lacks of this
- SajadiApr 20, 2019Brass ContributorWithout any of this - Edge was an instantly uninstall-case. Chromium based browsers are just boring, lack creative features and are not at all attractive for power-users and customization enthusiasts!
Right now Edge is just a generic boring browser and there is no reason to use it at all over solutions like Waterfox, Pale Moon, Otter-Browser or Vivaldi/Brave.
Sorry to say, in the state Edge is like it is now... and without a radical concept-change and the will to experiment with the UI layout - Edge is just another Chromium based browser - and why using a Chromium clone when you also can use real Chromium itself.- AnonymousApr 20, 2019
Well you cant please everybody all the time but if people use edge based on chrome and don't swap to chrome its a win for Microsoft as for yourself you would always gravitate towards a more customisable browser I think this is for the majority of users not the handful who want to tinkerSajadi

I use a browser for 2 main things. 1 is browsing but the second is for debugging. I spend my entire day in debug tools so the better the experience for debugging is, the more i will gravitate to it for my work life. As for browsing itself, i always used IE over anything else because i liked the way it worked better but when true Edge came out, and the dropped support for IE, i moved away from it. I found myself using Firefox for every day browsing. Now that Edge is based on the engine i use the most, i thought i would give it a try. I can't say that it has advantages yet over Chromium itself but my hope is that MS can take it to new heights. I have supported MS for many years but with some of the recent moves they have made, i am less and less a supporter.
