Wow, Pete, this different, bizarre and sad.  Which Channel is behaving like this?  Maybe, remove it & grab a new Download & install that. It's just odd one person can be problem-free & impressed & then, there's your experience.  I find Edge C much fast to load than Edge HTML. It is missing Add notes & what the Favorites icon gives is less than expected & unappealing how Favs are handled. "No privacy options/app permissions in Windows Settings." Actually, yes, there are.  There are, no denying it, some Feature issues, but, most are finding its performance better than anything.
Cheers,
Drew
I tried Dev on several different Surface machines (Pro 5 LTE, Pro 6, 3 LTE, Go LTE) all of them on most recent W10 OS 1909 18363.476 with the same experience across all of them. Edge C freezing most of the time on Type Cover close, once reopened and logged in Edge C unresponsive. Edge C messing up face unlock, although in it's privacy setting camera and microphone access is disabled, every now and then on start of it the IR camera red light weirdly lights up and remains on until the browser is closed!!! When minimized for a longer period of time doesn't suspend and resumes properly like classic Edge. When completely closed Edge C doesn't update adblocker lists in the background like the classic Edge does. In the Windows Settings app Privacy section there is no a single slider related to Edge C. And the worse is messing up the Application Guard for classic Edge.

"In the Windows Settings app Privacy section there is no a single slider related to Edge C", Pete
I thought you were talking about Edge C's Settings. There won't be anything in the OS Settings as Edge C is not the OS's browser (yet).

And there won't be anything unless it is a UWP app. even right now that Edge classic is the default built in browser in Windows 10, there is nothing in the Windows settings that is related to it. - PeteMSTechComNov 29, 2019Brass ContributorHotCakeXwrote: "And there won't be anything unless it is a UWP app. even right now that Edge classic is the default built in browser in Windows 10, there is nothing in the Windows settings that is related to it." That's incorrect, in the Windows Settings app / Privacy / App permissions, Microsoft Edge appears in: - Location - Camera - Microphone - Account info - Background apps - Pictures Even in Camera and Microphone, there is an additional section at the bottom: "Allow your desktop apps to access your camera/microphone".

- PeteMSTechComNov 28, 2019Brass ContributorFair enough. I'll happily rely on classic Edge until then. By the way, found something interesting: https://www.thurrott.com/dev/208808/microsoft-issues-updated-webview-2-sdk - Drew1903Nov 28, 2019Silver ContributorPeteMSTechCom
That is, indeed, interesting. Thanks for sharing it with me.

- HotCakeXNov 28, 2019MVPEdge C won't be showing any options in the privacy settings because it's a Win32 app, no longer a UWP app like Edge classic.
so the only privacy options are inside Edge insider browser settings page:
 edge://settings/privacy
 and
 edge://settings/content
it's true the experience on surface and in touch based devices such as tablets are not as good as the experience on desktop versions, still lots of work and improvements need to be done.
how exactly Application Guard is causing problem for Edge classic?
"When completely closed Edge C doesn't update adblocker lists in the background like the classic Edge does. "
which adblocker extension?- PeteMSTechComNov 28, 2019Brass ContributorUWP are excellent, like classic Edge, Monument Browser, BlueSky Browser, Super-Fast Browser, myTube, PDF Reader by Xodo, Drawboard PDF, MS Office Desktop Apps, Skype, OneNote, Excel/PowerPoint/Word Mobile Apps and plenty of others. Is Edge C going to be one as well in the future? Is it going to be distributed and updated through the MS Store? I wish MS Teams was an UWP as well, hopefully one day but that's another story. After Edge Dev has been installed and Application Guard window used even once, then most of the time classic Edge's Application Guard window won't launch at all or takes ages or when it eventually does, no mechanical/virtual keyboard and touch screen inputs work, logging out/back in, rebooting won't rectify it. The only solution to fix it, is to fully uninstall Edge Dev (I use Revo uninstaller) and manually clean the registry. Worked on all my Surfaces. Even happened on my HP desktop at work. Once Edge C has gone Application Guard is fine again. The adblockers I tried are Nano and Adguard, they're fine and classic Edge even when closed (but present in the task manager) keeps them up to date in the background on all my LTE Surfaces, which are always connected on unlimited data packages across Europe. And the battery usage is minimal. - HotCakeXNov 28, 2019MVPYeah i know i agree with that, UWP are great. apps in a container, no left over after uninstall, so many good features.
but unfortunately we don't see so many eager developers releasing UWP version of their software.Edge insider is Not going to be released through Windows store. it is a standalone Win32 type of software, just like Google Chrome, Firefox etc. it will be updated the same way, with no dependency on Windows store whatsoever. it will however be integrated into Windows 10 once it is feature rich, probably at a later time.
here are more information about that:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployEdge/microsoft-edge-sysupdate-windows-updatessince the new Edge is multi platform, actually the first browser from Microsoft that is released for OSes other than Windows, so it won't be a UWP app. https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download rumor has it that it's gonna come to the Linux too, soon. WDAG had some issues, chances are they are still present in the Dev channel.
I have Windows 10 pro x64 with i7 7700K, using Edge canary, application guard, Hyper-V and other virtualization programs work fine. I have enabled virtualization features of my CPU in the system's UEFI/BIOS.would you mind mentioning which CPU and OS version of yours have problem with Application guard? Edge insider has these options that take care of background sync so if any extension needs to be updated in the background, they should do so automatically. But, they may still be buggy, not run correctly or as expected so. the thing is Edge classic handles extensions differently than Chromium based browsers such as Edge insider and Google chrome. I use ublock origin, it doesn't need to be constantly connected to the Internet, it regularly updates itself when I use Edge browser. it's got lots of filters built in and extra ones that can be added https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en
