    Hi All,

    We have rolled out a fix to the problem where clients were reporting error on sync. We expect an app restart should get the client back into a functional state for sync now. We so much appreciate your patience and willingness to help all this while. Apologies that it took us time to get this fix across to you. If you still see any errors, please submit using in-app feedback button (and drop me a private message so that we jump on it faster). Sincere thanks for working with us on building a better product.

Deleted @Kailo_ NicolSD This (sync for settings) is really good discussion and feedback. We are still exploring the right behavior here but currently its a subset of preferences that sync. We acknowledge that this is leading to end user confusion and are looking into offering better transparency to end users. 

 

One more clarification 

- Form fill (addresses , phone, numbers etc) & Passwords should sync just fine. These are controlled by independent toggles on the sync settings page

The data itself might sync, but it is the setting for "Addresses, phone, numbers, and more" that didn't sync.  I have it set to off in Canary.  When I installed the beta it was set to on.

 

I don't want these to sync.  I also do not want passwords to sync.  To have these get set to on when I have them set to off in another version of the browser is not good.  If I hadn't noticed that they were on in the beta, I would have assumed they would have been synced to the off setting.  If you are not going to sync these setting values then please have the default be off, not on.

Is the intent that at some point all settings will sync?  If not, you really need to make it clear in the UI what values do and don't sync.
