Why does the "Allow more top sites on the New Tab Page" keep getting punted? It's beginning to seem like this feature is never going to get implemented and/or it isn't a high priority for the Edge team. A lot of people have been upset about this one since it's something that works out of the box with Chrome, Firefox and now Brave:

Case in point I have switched to using Brave for most of my browsing because I don't want to use an obnoxious extension that adds too many unnecessary features to the browser. This is becuase currently the only way to customize the new tab page beyond what Edge provides is to use an extension. It's a bit frustrating, because I just want to be able to have more than 6-8 sites to put on my new tab page. I only really use Edge now for work and/or getting MS reward points. It's a shame because I otherwise think the Edge new tab page is the best one with the bing daily images and other customization features. 😞
I doubt you are ever going to respond to this, since I am guessing you either A) Don't know B) Don't care (pardon my bluntness) or C) Never look at these responses. If you do however see this and do happen to have some way to shed some light on this one, it would be appreciated.

StephenWhiteD3G Hey, there! I do apologize for the radio silence in these updates, I'd like to provide a bit of insight into why that is.
I work across these Insider forums, two subreddits on Reddit, and Twitter for MSEdgeDev and my own handle. I'm sure you can understand that's a lot of information I'm gathering and sharing with the team by myself. I do have others like our new CM Ben and Josh who help out, however they each have their own respective spaces, too. Add in the weekly updates for the you've been updated page and the feedback updates, and I can get pretty busy. 😉
That being said, I see email responses every time someone posts on these and route them to the proper owner, if warranted. If they are questions like you are asking here, I do my best to get back to people but I look to do that only when I have answers I can actually provide. To answer your specific question, I'm not an engineer and have no information on the status of this item other than what is on this list. If I am not responding, it's more because I don't have an update to share. A good portion of these status update requests get the answer of "we have nothing to share at this time". I know people do not want to see that every time they ask (others have told me in the past when that's the only answer they get), so I simply ask that users keep an eye out on these updates for whenever I have something new to share from the team. I get it, that sounds like a non-answer, however it's the best way to ensure you know the latest status for this. If you haven't spotted it yet, we have a public road map now where you can also keep an eye out to see when this will be implemented (though I don't see this item on that list just yet).
Know that we're working to ensure these posts are better responded to (we are watching even if we're not responding), however it's going to take a bit more shuffling and time to work out the details. I hope this is understandable, and we'll keep you all updated on who's working on what and where once we have more on that. 🙂

Thanks for your thorough and honest response. I really do appreciate you taking the time to provide insight onto why things have seemed quiet lately.
- dftf-wipMay 31, 2021Iron ContributorI agree, the Microsoft Staff who manage this don't reply very-often... makes you wonder why bother sometimes! And many of the very-active users here usually just advise you to do a "Send Feedback" from within Edge, rather than post here anyway. I do wonder sometimes why they bother to have sites like this (or UserVoice) when they rarely bother to reply to users...
- Dennis5mileJun 01, 2021Silver ContributorActually you should do both. Send feedback from within Edge via the feedback button and post here in these forums. Posting in these forums will help others that might have your same issues and when they are replied to from the Team, they will see the solution/answer too. It also takes the "Am I the only one" out of it..
Hope this helps some...
