Okay, I found it! No, that setting toggles between the news feed showing upon opening the tab, vs. you have to scroll down to see it. The other option eliminates the news feed altogether.

Dan, what the heck am I missing, not seeing or finding here. The button brings up the feeds from the bottom; without hitting it, they aren't there; yet, 'available underneath'. But, instead of hitting the button, scrolling will, also, pull them up. Then, there's eliminate completely, how?, where?, that is what's eluding me...
