Introducing web capture for Microsoft Edge
I wonder if this is the actual implementation of inking on web pages as promised in the Feedback summary - appreciate it if you can shed some light on the same. (Feedback summary mentions inking is planned for September).
TIA

SumitDhiman this is the first version of 'inking on web content' feature which we had in legacy Microsoft Edge. You can capture web content right now, inking support would be rolling in coming weeks. Got a bit delayed, so not exactly September but pretty close
. I hope that helps. - justwantinkingbackOct 21, 2020Copper Contributor
vygadekaany update on when Inking webpages is coming back? That little pen icon in the Legacy Edge version was insanely useful for doing live webdesign reviews with clients over Skype.

it is back, this is on Edge Dev Version 88.0.673.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit)
i selected an area of this page using web capture that is exactly the same feature from Edge legacy and I can ink on it, save it, share it with other apps such as OneNote etc.

Yes, In HTML it was called Add Notes. Also, referred to as Inking. In Edge with PDFs it is termed Inking.
Has been requested forever & wonderful it's done. Anxious to have it in GA & with all its tools.- HotCakeXSep 30, 2020MVPSpoiler

None of that, the terminology past or present, was being discussed, debated or questioned. Point was nothing except the similar feature in HTML was called Add Notes & by some people & in some places the similar feature is referred to as inking. Was just an observed fact about the various wording used or applied different times & locations for this. Wasn't an opinion about anything. Sorry you misunderstood.

They mentioned in the original post:
"In the near future, you can expect to see more functionalities added to web capture, like adding ink or highlights to your captures, capturing full webpages, and scrolling while marking them."
this is just the start, more stuff are on the way
