Office customization tool xml deploys O365 Pro Plus instead of O365 Business

Hi there,

i configured a xml file with help of the office customization tool (config.office.com) where O365 Business should be installed and the icons should be pinned to the taskbar. And yes, i read the lines within the xml and they are correct to me.

I entered the XML within MSFT Endpoint Manager (Intune) and assigned the policy to my laptop and user. Then i joined the user to AAD.

What happened?

O365 Pro Plus was installed and the icons are not pinned to the taskbar.

Any clues?

Best

  • Martin Fuhrmann the icons will not pin on Win10 devices.  This is only a Win7 feature

As for the SKU that is installed, the XML should have either the following product ID:

O365ProPlusRetail - the ID that tells ODT to install the Office 365 ProPlus product

O365BusinessRetail - the ID that tells ODT to install the Office 365 Business product

Is it possible that the user that activated the product had a ProPlus license assigned to them instead of a Business license?

thx for your reply and the tip on pinning the apps to the taskbar.

I've heard from a colleague of you that deploying O365Business is not possible via XML via Intune!

...even if the XML is correct.

The pc was new. Nothing installed beforehand.

In the control center under programs it shows O365Business.

If i open word f.e. it shows O365ProPlus.

Repair and online repair doesn't help. Uninstallation and reinstall doesn't help....

      So it doesn't work.
