Network connectivity test

When running a connectivity test, I get this error:

TCP Connection: unblock DNS for URL: ***-myfiles.sharepoint.com. Test FQDN(s) users were ***-myfiles.sharepoint.com

Stars replace our company's prefix to our SharePoint site.

I found that they are being listed as required at https://aka.ms/o365ip under ID 39 now. I think Microsoft is planning to use them soon.

KenChong but how do I resolve this issue? I don't believe that we are blocking DNS for that URL.

DJTentman, the *-files.sharepoint.com and *-myfiles.sharepoint.com are not resolvable now, so the test will always complain about it. I think we can only ignore it until Microsoft fixes the test or start using the domains.

        Regards,

        Ken

Never heard of that URL before i.e. 'myfiles.sharpoint.com'

    Just some random ideas...

Have you got the latest version of the https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=103017?

Do you get the same error in the https://connectivity.office.com/?

The tool has a config file, has this been modified? Try with default config.

    Good luck.

tictag I'm using the online tool. So, it should be the latest version.

      It is the default config.

The only domains I know of is:

    • <initial_domain>.sharepoint.com - Regular SharePoint sites
    • <initial_domain>_my.sharepoint.com - OneDrive for Business

They both resolve fine for me. Try to specify "-Server '1.1.1.1'" maybe?

    Documentation on relevant domains:

I have the same issue. When I open Powershell and "Resolve-DnsName ***-myfiles.sharepoint.com" (replace *** with my tenant name), it responds that the DNS name does not exist. Same with ***-files.sharepoint.com.
